No, this is not a new application announcement. And no, this is not a application review post. Apple just released its own media library software, iTunes 8.2 yesterday. According to various Apple blog sites, this release is mainly prepare for iPhone 3.0, which could be releasing in the upcoming weeks (Apple WWDC starts next Monday, 06/08/2009).
As usual, Apple doesn’t list what is new in this release of iTunes. I was playing around with it and discover a couple of new features in this new version.
###Tutorial
iTunes now comes with [iTunes Hot Tips](http://www.apple.com/itunes/tutorials/), which is a tutorial on how to use iTunes effectively.
###Security
When you plug in an iPhone 3.0 phone, you have an option to enable encryption with the backup file.
###Sync without Interruption
I am not so sure if it is a new feature in 8.2. In the past, iTunes stops syncing if there is a phone call. Since version 8.2, iTunes continues synching while the phone is in use.
